The St Christopher window is in memory of the Officers and Men of the Royal New Zealnd Navy who lost their lives during World War Two.
During the Second World War, 10,000 men served in the Royal New Zealand Navy and the Royal New Zealand Naval Volunteer Reserve. Compared with the other two services, the death toll was comparatively light. In all, 800 men became casualties, of whom 573 lost their lives.
