World War Two Memorial PlantationPrint Page Print this page

The Norfolk Pine trees commemorate those who enlisted in World War Two.

Recently the members of the local branch R.S.S. & A.I.L. and Narrung Soldiers' Welfare Committee organised working bees when they prepared a reserve near the Narrung Institute for a memorial garden for members of the 2nd A.I.F., and on Saturday, 19th July, trees of tribute were planted for those who have enlisted. The trees were Norfolk Island pines. A number of gums and tamarisks were also planted.
