The Richmond War Cemetery contains 25 burials from the Australian Army, Royal Air Force and Royal Australian Air Force (R.A.A.F.). who served in World War Two.
During the Second World War, Richmond Aerodrome was a base for squadrons of the Royal Australian Air Force engaged upon reconnaissance and submarine patrols, for the protection of shipping along the coast and to guard against possible attacks by carrier-borne Japanese aircraft of the principal towns and cities. The war cemetery contains 25 Second World War burials, most of them of airmen. The general cemetery contains a further two war graves.
