St Peter`s Glenbrook Honour RollPrint Page

The Honour Roll commemorates members of the church who served in World War Two.
The Honour Roll, and a Hymn Board, were presented by the St Peter's Sunday School in memory of William Earnest Foster, a former Sunday School teacher.
The veterans on the roll and their brief stories are recorded in a book, compiled by Walter J. Venn and Don Murdoch and published by the Glenbrook & District Historical Society Inc. The book is available through the Society and is also available at their museum in Ross Street, Glenbrook.
On Saturday, September 21, in St. Peter's Church, Glenbrook, the unveiling and dedication of the honour roll and hymn board presented by St. Peter's Sunday School in memory of W. (Bill) Foster, son of Mr. and Mrs. L. Foster, of Glenbrook, a former Sun day school teacher, took place. There was a very large attendance. The service was conducted by Rev. Rice, Acting Rector of Christ Church Parish, and Rev. Smith, of Wentworth Falls parish, assisted by Rev, I. D. Armitage, who read the prayers. The address was given and the unveiling ceremony performed by Rev. Smith. Following the unveiling ceremony Robin Rich placed a spray of red, white, and blue flowers, made by Mrs, Hobbs, of Glenbrook, beneath the honour roll. Afternoon tea was afterwards partaken of in the School of Arts, where Mr. Goddin rendered solos.
