Memorial Avenue CairnPrint Page
The cairn commemorates the planting of silky oaks in 1947 in memory of those who died in service or were killed in action during World War Two.
Members of the Bangalow R.S.L. will assemble at the clubroom on Anzac Day and march to the A. and I. Hall, where a combined service will be held. All ex-servicemen and women and the Junior Red Cross have been invited to join the march. The collection at the service will be donated to the "Food for Britain" Appeal. After the service, league members will place wreaths on graves of fallen comrades at the Bangalow cemetery.
The Soldiers' Welfare Committee has trees for the Avenue of Remembrance, and these will be planted in conjunction with the league.
