Broomehill Honour Roll Unveiled.
Over forty ex-servicemen on Anzac Day and marched to the War Memorial where a representative gathering of district residents had assembled for a short service and the laying of wreaths. The gathering then moved to the Road Board hall for the main service and seating accommodation was severely taxed. Mr. Edgar Richardson gave a spirited address, tracing the rise of Australia from pre-federation times to the present day, and stressing the responsibilities of the younger generation to honour their obligations to the Nation.
At the conclusion of the address Mr. Richardson unveiled an Honour Roll, dedicated to the memory of 1939 45 servicemen. This Honour Roll is to be placed in the hall entrance opposite that commemorating the 1914 18 war. A committee of ex-servicemen's wives, headed by Mrs. M. Clayton, served afternoon tea at the conclusion of the service. Mr. H. Mouritz, who had earlier attended both services at Katanning was present at the Broomehill services as well in the capacity of bugler.
