Mudgee Circuit Honour RollPrint Page
The honour roll commemorates those from the Mudgee Methodist Circuit who served in World War Two.
On Sunday, 6th July, at 11 a.m., coinciding with the Empire call to Prayer by His majesty the King, a civic and Parade Service was held for the unveiling and dedication of the Mudgee Methodist Circuit Honour Roll — a solemn, act, which concluded the services of Dedication of the new Church appointments, which are in memory of those who paid the supreme sacrifice, and of all those who served during the years of War.
Members of the Returned Soldiers Organization, Scouts and Guides, as well as our own youth organisation were present; altogether a very large congregation, who witnessed the unveiling of the first Honour Roll, for World War 2, to be erected in Mudgee. Rev. Edmund T. Walken, who was to have been the preacher for this occasion, was unable to be present, owing to illness, but in his stead, our own minister, Rev. A C.Towner, admirably conducted a very appropriate service and combined the two thoughts, 'The King's call to Prayer' and 'Winning the Peace.'
