Stewarton State School Roll of HonourPrint Page
The framed paper honour roll commemorates those who served in World War Two.
Sunday last was a most memorable day at Stewarton, when local and district residents gathered at the Stewarton School for the unveiling of the Honor Roll of those who had served in the last World War. The guest speaker for the occasion was a former pupil of their school, Dr. Ernie Dunlop, who rightly earned the title of the "Christ of Thailand" for his untiring work amongst the troops in P.O.W. camps.
Of the nineteen on the Honor Roll, two had made the supreme sacrifice - Flying Officer Duggan and Private Kevin Ryan, and in memory of those two young men, all observed one minute's silence.
