07-April-2015
Photographs supplied by Tim Fitzgerald
The wooden honour roll commemorates those from Balliang and District who served in World War Two.
Balliang.
The next meeting was that of the Soldiers' Welfare League. Cr. Beggs occupied the chair and reported that the two Honor Boards were completed. It now only remained for their unveiling and it was decided to arrange for that ceremony to be done in the Balliang East Hall on the 6th December and to ask Mr. Holden, M.L.A., to do the unveiling. The Lara orchestra has been engaged and full catering arrangements have been made so that patrons will be sure of a good night's entertainment, and at a reasonable price.
