The St Mary`s Catholic Primary School was erected to commemorate those who served in World War Two.
On Sunday next, 15th inst., the new Catholic War Memorial School at Mansfield will be opened by Dr. J. D. Simmonds, Coadjutor Archbishop of Melbourne, at 2.30 p.m. The building, known as St. Mary's Primary School, built at a cost of £19,749, is a beautiful brick structure. At an additional cost of £1200 a shelter shed and septic tank have been constructed. It will be a big day for the Catholic community of Mansfield. Amongst the visitors will be 40 priests from all parts of the diocese. The parish priest, Rev. Fr. Keogh, is being assisted by Frs. McCarthy and Doyle in making final arrangements for the big day.
