The park commemorates the 50th anniversary of the end of World War Two and the pioneers of Patchwollock and district.

The park contains an honour roll of those from the district who served in World War Two and an Australia Remembers Plaque.

There is also an honour roll for the pioneers of the district which is listed as a separate entry. 

"Australia Remembers, 1945-1995" was a program of activities organised by the Federal Government to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the end of World War Two.
