St Andrew`s Church Roll of HonourPrint Page
The wooden roll of honour commemorates those connected with the church who served in World War One.
Anzac services will be conducted in St. Andrew's, Lane street, tomorrow at 11 a.m. and 7 p.m., and at S Paul's, Railway Town, at 11.45 a.m, The serviceat St. Andrew's at 7 p.m will be a united one.. Mr. Alf Holland will be the soloist and will sing "The Trumpeter." Mr. George Smith will play the organ solo Handel's "Largo," and the choir will render the anthem "Open the Gates of the Temple." Mr. G. Wilkins, vice president of the Returned Soldiers' League will unveil the honor roll and read the names of the fallen. Returned soldiers will take part in this service. The wreath is the gift of Mrs. J. M'B. Ross. The congregation of St. Paul's will unite in this service.
