Jumbuk Honour Roll Print Page
The honour roll commemorates those who served in World War One.
Jumbuk Road. On Friday, 13th ult. a nice crowd gathered at the local hall to take part in the unveiling of the Honor Roll which was carried out by Cr Dunbar (President of the Shire) in the absence of Mr Livingstone M.L.A., who sent an apology which, however came too late. As usual the weather was very rough. It rained all the afternoon. The motor from Morwell had quite a struggle to get along, but being in charge of it good driver, the ordeal was accomplished without a mishap.
Cr. Dunbar presided, and speeches were made by Crs. Ritchie and Coleman, Messrs Cahill and Monteith, after which Cr. Dunbar delivered a short address before drawing the flag off the honor roll and declaring it unveiled. Then followed the singing of the National Anhem and God bless Our Splendid Men, after which the ladies handed round afternoon tea, which was enjoyed by all, as it was one of those days that such a thing is very acceplable. When afternoon tea was over the people went off to attend to their dairy herds.
