Hawthorn Town Hall Honour Roll Print Page 

The Hawthorn Town Hall Honour Roll was unveiled on ANZAC Day 1932 by General Sir Harry Chauvel in memory of those from the district who served in World War One. The Honour Roll is in book form.
Special significance attached to the observance at Hawthorn in the unveiling by General Sir H G. Chauvel of the civic roll of honor. The ceremony took place in the foyer of the town hall, where the roll, in book form, will be housed in a glass case, It is intended to turn a page of the book daily. Many citizens attended, and the mayor (Cr. J. W. George) presided. Later in the morning a service was hold at the memorial in the West Hawthorn municipal reserve.
