Queanbeyan District Methodist Church Honour Roll Print Page
The wooden honour roll commemorates the men of the Church who enlisted in World War One. It was unveiled by Brigadier Spencer in August 1918.
At the Queanbeyan Methodist Church, on Sunday afternoon next, the ceremony of unveiling an Honor Roll, perpetuating the names of a score or more of the young men who belonging to the Methodist Church here have enlisted, and of whom four or five have laid down their lives in Freedom's cause. Brigadier Spencer Browne has kindly consented to do the unveiling, and amongst his military staff on the occasion will be a trumpeter who at a given point in the ceremony will sound the Last Post in honor of the fallen soldiers.
The service throughout will be specially appropriate, and the Choral singing will of itself be worth listening to. Amongst those to be present are expected the relatives of all, or the most part of, those whose names are inscribed on the Roll.
