Loyal Gawler Lodge I.O.O.F.M.U. Honour RollPrint Page
The brass honour roll commemorates members of the lodge who served in World War One.
At a meeting of members and their friends on Thursday evening of last week in the Oddfellows Hall a Roll of Honour was unveiled by Mrs Walter Jacobs- mother of a fallen soldier. Mrs. Jacobs gracefully performed the ceremony of unveiling the Roll of Honour, which is of a somewhat unusual type, being a brass plate with the names engraved and black filled, headed by crossed flags and the inscription. Loyal Gawler Lodge. I.O.O F., M.U. 'Lest we forget our brothers who answered the call.' The plate is mounted on a background and frame of polished blackwood and was much admired.
Bunyip (Gawler), 21st March 1919.
