The Lone Pine
After the capture of the Lone Pine Ridge, Gallipoli, 6th august 1915, an Australian soldier found a pine cone which was returned to Australia.
This pine tree is a seedling from the original pine cone and was presented in memory of those who fell at Lone Pine by Mr Roy West 6th Field Artillery 1st A.I.F. and planted by Sqn. Ldr. A. W. Skimin (RAAF) and Mr. K. Thurgate Pres. The Gap Sub Branch R.S.L
