Dear Monument Australia visitors, we are a self-funded, non-profit organisation, dedicated to recording monuments throughout Australia. Over time the costs of maintaining this website have risen substantially (in fact they are probably larger than those of many companies who exist for profit). In the past we have borne all the costs associated with maintaining the website but we are now having difficulties in paying the monthly expenses.
If Monument Australia is useful to you, please make a donation to keep this historical and educational resource available. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Rosewood Shire Council Honour RollPrint Page

The honour roll commemorates 270 District soldiers who served in World War One.
On the 6th December 1919, the Rosewood Shire Honour Board was unveiled by the Chairman of the Rosewood Shire Council, Councillor H Dutney. The Honour Board contains the names of 270 district soldiers which are inscribed on metal plates. On either side is a figure of a soldier with suitable scrollings. Prior to the unveiling, a procession marched from the Shire Council Office to the railway station where the unveiling was performed. The procession was headed by the Ipswich City Vice-Regal Band and a contingent of returned soldiers under the command of Lieutenant-Colonel K. M. O'Donnell and Captain D.J.Binnie.
