Herberton Presbyterian Church Honour RollPrint Page
The marble honour roll commemorates those from the Presbyterian Church who served in World War One. The names of six men who died while on service are inscribed above a further 31 who served.
The necessary funds were raised and the tablet was purchased before the shipping strike intervened and the unveiling was delayed. The Reverend J.A. Sinclair had left the church in Herberton but promised to return at a later date for the unveiling. The roll was unveiled by the Reverend Sinclair on the 1st June 1920. The tablet itself is a beautiful piece of workmanship being in white marble on a black marble background with gold lettering and weighed upwards of 3 cwts.
Cairns Post, 10th June 1920.
