The monument commemorates those who served in World War One.
The memorial erected to perpetuate the memory of those who had served their country in the Great War was unveiled by Mr F.H. Forde M.L. A on the 17th December 1921. The memorial is in the form of an obelisk wholly of white marble from the Carrara Marble Company quarried at Ulam. The memorial was erected by Mr G. H. Jenkins, stonemason of Rockhampton at a cost of £125. In all 28 names are inscribed on the monument, 4 of whom made the supreme sacrifice.
