The honour roll from the Weldborough Anglican Church which was destroyed by fire in 1996 commemorates those from the district who died in service or were killed in action in World War One.

On Sunday afternoon a memorial service was held in St. Peter's Church in honour of our fallen soldiers. The Rev G. E. Moore officiated. There was a large congregation, the building being packed, the church was becomingly draped with purple, laurel wreaths, and Union Jack. The rev. gentleman in the course of his eloquent and impressive address unveiled a beautiful marble slab (which is to be placed in the church) bearing the names of four of our boys who have paid the supreme sacrifice, viz., Ptes H. and C. Gardiner. A, Taylor, and G. Parry. Special hymns were sung, also a solo beautifully rendered by Mr F. Dennis, entitled "Refuge of the Soul."  Mrs Cyril Adams presided at the organ.

In connection with a report in the North Eastern Advertiser of August 22nd relating to the unveiling of a memorial tablet, in St Peters Church, one soldiers name was omitted. The complete list is Privates H and C. Gardiner, G Evans, G. Parry, and A. Taylor.
