Scottsdale District Honour RollPrint Page
The honour roll commemorates 269 people from the district who served in World War One.
The ceremony of unveiling a very fine municipal honour roll to commemorate the names of the men who enlisted for the Great War from the Scottsdale municipality was performed at the Mechanics hall on Thursday. The attendance was large, though the weather was extremely cold, and much interest was taken in the proceedings. The chair was occupied by Councillor C. H. Hookway, who had shown much energy and interest in securing the board, which was affixed to the wall of the hall.
The Mercury (Hobart), 8th August 1921.
Note: The “Tasmanian War Memorials Data Base”, compiled by Fred Thornett which is located at the State Library of Tasmania, contains a comprehensive listing of the names on this honour roll.
