Dear Monument Australia visitors, we are a self-funded, non-profit organisation, dedicated to recording monuments throughout Australia. Over time the costs of maintaining this website have risen substantially (in fact they are probably larger than those of many companies who exist for profit). In the past we have borne all the costs associated with maintaining the website but we are now having difficulties in paying the monthly expenses.
If Monument Australia is useful to you, please make a donation to keep this historical and educational resource available. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Methodist Church Honour RollPrint Page

The wooden honour roll commemorates the members of the Methodist Church who served in World War One. It lists 55 names. The roll has carved in it, a rising sun badge, and angel with a wreath in its right hand, and a lion.
Harvest thanksgiving services in connection with the local Methodist Church were held on Sunday, in ideal weather. A feature of the celebration was the unveiling in the church of the honor board to replace the old one in the hall.
Advocate (Burnie), 22nd March 1928.
Note: The “Tasmanian War Memorials Data Base”, compiled by Fred Thornett which is located at the State Library of Tasmania, contains a comprehensive listing of the names on this honour roll.
