St Andrew`s Anglican Church Roll of HonourPrint Page
The wooden honour roll commemorates those connected with the church who served in World War One.
There was a large congregation at St. Andrew's Anglican Church, Evandale, on the occasion of the unveiling of the church's roll of honour. It contains about 50 names, and has been hung on the wall in the centre of the church. The roll is of Tasmanian blackwood, artistically decorated, and the names are printed in gold letters. Mrs. J. V. Gibson (wife of the Warden) performed the unveiling ceremony. The service was conducted by the Rev. C. H. Shedden.
The Mercury (Hobart), 21st June 1920.
Note : the “Tasmanian War Memorials Data Base” , compiled by Fred Thornett which is located at the State Library of Tasmania, contains a comprehensive listing of the names on this honour roll.
