Old Modernians Honour RollPrint Page
The honour roll commemorates former students of the school who enlisted in World War One.
The enlistment board was unveiled on the 21st October 1922 on the same day as the war memorial unveiling. Messrs Sandover & Co. were responsible for the making of the board while Mr Madeley did the carving. The board was designed Mr W.B.Hardwick F.R.V.I.A who also designed the war memorial. In 2020 a supplementary honour board listing the names of an additional five staff and 34 students who served in World War One was mounted next to the original honour board.
An interesting ceremony, commencing at 3.15 p.m. next Sunday, will be the unveiling of the cenotaph erected to the memory of the old boys of the Perth Modern School who fell in the Great War. The ceremony will be performed by the Lieut.-Governor (Sir Robert McMillan), and the dedication service will be conducted by His Grace the Archbishop of Perth. At the conclusion of the ceremony of unveiling, which will take place in the school grounds, His Excellency will unveil the roll of honor in the school hall. Permission has been given for returned soldiers to wear uniform.
