The honour roll commemorates 15 service personnel who served in World War One.

On Saturday, September 4th, at 8 p.m. in the local hall, His Grace Archbishop Riley unveiled a handsome honor board erected to the memory of those Anzacs who enlisted from the immediate vicinity of the Weir. The chairman (Mr. R. W. Edgeloe), introducing His Grace to the audience, which completely filled the hall, expressed the deep pleasure felt by all at his presence among them, a pleasure enhanced by the fact that His Grace had made a special effort to be present. The chairman stated that numerous apologies for inability to be present had been received, and in the course of a short address clearly explained the reasons why the honor roll had not been placed in the hall before.

In a very interesting and instructive address His Grace, inter alia, drew special attention to the obligations that rested upon the people of Australia in so far as the physical and moral welfare of the returned men was concerned. His earnest remarks were listened to most attentively. His Grace then performed the ceremony of unveiling and the audience rose and sang the National Anthem. Before resuming his seat the Archbishop, in the course of a few further remarks, expressed his keen appreciation of the fact that no fewer than 15 names appeared on the roll, 2 of whom had made the supreme sacrifice. He felt proud indeed each time he was asked to do honor to those who so richly deserved all that a thankful people could possibly bestow. The member for the district (Mr W. R. Nairn) in thanking the Archbishop for his presence, emphasised the advantages accruing to those who were fortunate enough to dwell under the Southern Cross. The speaker specially appealed to his younger hearers to make themselves worthy of their heritage and voiced the pleasure which all felt at the presence of Capt. A. C. McCallum, who, he said, had always shown a very keen interest in everything pertaining to the welfare of the soldiers, both during and subsequent to the war.

Songs and recitations added to the enjoyment of the evening. The school children, under the direction of Mrs. Fieldgate and Mrs. Boyes, pleased the audience with their rendering of "Anzac" and "The Bells of Peace" whilst another section of the pupils under the headmaster feelingly recited "Our Heritage." Miss Lennard was the star performer of the evening, and delighted the audience with her vocal items. Mr Little, who brought up a company from Midland Junction, was highly appreciated, especially by the younger element. He was ably assisted by Messrs. Bindley, Kennedy and Priddle. Miss Crase's singing was very pleasant, and she favored with an encore. Local talent was represented by the efforts of Mrs. Potter and Miss Hawkins, from both of whom repeat numbers were requested. The success of the function was in a great measure due to the untiring efforts of the chairman of the hall committee (Mr D Lord) and the secretary (Mr W Grace). The decoration of the hall, for which they were mainly responsible, was declared to have surpassed any previous effort in that direction. They were ably assisted by Messrs. Boyes, Quartermaine, Allen a returned Anzac. A committee of three (Messrs. Boyes, Allen and Fieldgate) were responsible for the arranging of the concert. Mrs Hunter, ably assisted by the ladies from No. 1 and No. 11 pumping stations, was responsible for the splendid catering. Dancing until midnight brought a most successful function to a close. The accompaniments were played by Mrs. Boyes. A fancy dress ball will be held in the Institute, Mundaring Weir, on Saturday October 2nd. The proceeds will be devoted to the Parkerville Home.
