Cancanning War Memorial Hall was erected in memory of those who served in World War One.
Residents of Cancanning subscribed to a project to build a hall in honour of the men who enlisted in World War One. The Soldiers Memorial Hall was opened on the afternoon of Anzac Day 1922. The building was named the Cancanning Hall.
Note: The WA Heritage Register states that the hall was opened on Anzac Day 1923. The Trove newspaper article listed here shows that the hall was opened on Anzac Day 1922.
