This memorial was officially unveiled by His Excellency Mr Pierre Viaux French Ambassador to Australia who on behalf of the French Government unveiled this memorial in remembrance of the young men from Port Pirie and Districts who gave their lives during the WWI conflict on the battlefields of France.
May the memory of great sacrifices in a common cause keep France and Australia together forever in bonds of friendship and esteem.
