Soldiers` Memorial GrandstandPrint Page
The grandstand commemorates those who died in service or were killed in action during World War One. The foundation stones were laid on the 25th April 1927 and the grandstand was officially opened on the 13th August 1927.
The new Soldiers' Memorial Grandstand in the Memorial Oval at Port Pirie was opened on Saturday. This fine building, together with handsome the memorial gates for the oval, represents an outlay of nearly £5,000, and fittingly commemorates the memory of local men who fell in the Great War.
