The honour roll commemorates those from the district who died in service or were killed in action during World War One. The roll was one of two honour rolls which were unveiled at the opening of the chambers on the 31st October 1927.
The honour roll was unveiled at the opening of the Soldiers Memorial Chambers on the 31st October 1927 by Mr John Sharrad who lost a son in the war.
