Dear Monument Australia visitors, we are a self-funded, non-profit organisation, dedicated to recording monuments throughout Australia. Over time the costs of maintaining this website have risen substantially. In the past we have borne all the costs associated with maintaining the website but we are now having difficulties in paying the monthly expenses.
If Monument Australia is useful to you, please make a donation to keep this historical and educational resource available. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Avenue of HonourPrint Page

The Avenue of Honour was planted in 1918 to commemorate those who enlisted from the North Riding of the Shire of Mulgrave to serve in World War One. The trees once lined both sides of the street, today only a single line of mature Portugal Oaks exists along the nature strip on southern side of High Street Road, between Fleet Street and Baringa Street.
Funding of $5000 was received in 2018 through the Armistice Centenary Grants Program to erect a steel honour board near the site and conduct an unveiling ceremony.
