The hall was erected in 1924 to commemorate those who enlisted during World War One.
A meeting of the Memorial Hall committee was held on Wednesday night. Mr R. G. Coloc occupied the chair, and were present Messrs P. Grogan, L. Clarke, A. J. Rogers, T. C. Parsons (secretary), John Butcher, G. Simmie, B. Butcher, W. Stokes, R. Devereaux, J.W. Wright, and H. Holmberg. The hall which is now ready for use, although not quite finished as far as the outside work is concerned, will be used for a concert and dance on the evening on February 3, on the occasion of the Elmore Athletic Sports Club Club meeting. The official opening will take place at a layer date.
