The hall was erected to commemorate those who served in World War One.
A soldiers’ memorial hall was opened at Dereel on Saturday. The unveiling of a machine gun was performed by Mr A. Bell, M.L.C. The other speakers were Mr. D. H. Gibson M.L.A. ; Cr. A. P. Bingley, president of the shire, and Cr. Tonkin. The building cost £550, and there was now a debt of £100.
