The Avenue of Honour was planted in 1918 to commemorate those who served in World War One.
The Buangor avenue of honor, which consists of about 50 trees, running along the main Ballarat - Ararat road, was planted on Thursday. There was a large gathering of relatives and friends of district soldiers. Addresses in keeping with the occasion were delivered by Cr. W. G. Pickford (president of Buangor Avenue of Honor Committee) President Richards, Crs Burn and Vanstan (representing Araratshire Council, Cr. W.H. Halpin ( Riponshire Council) and Mr. J.R. Wotherspoon (secretary of the Beaufort Avenue of Honour.
