The plaque commemorates the district`s war veterans and the Kookaburra March.

A recruiting march of 23 men left Tooraweenah on 16 January 1916 to march to Bathurst via Mendoorah, Boomely, Cobbora and Mudee. Many of the Kookaburras were sent as reinforcements for the 45th Battalion.
