Swan Creek Public School Roll of HonourPrint Page
The honour roll commemorates former students of the school who served in World War One.
At Swan Creek Public School yesterday afternoon there was a large attendance, the occasion being the unveiling of an honor board, on which is recorded the names of 33 soldiers, who have been pupils of the school. The board is an excellent piece of workmanship, the manner in which the names have been arranged and placed being a credit to the artist, Mr. G. Campbell (teacher). On the top of the board appears the name of the school in gold lettering, while the names of the soldiers have been arranged in two columns, with a coloured spot after each corresponding spots at the foot of the board denoting whether killed in action, wounded or missing.
The board, which is indeed an acquisition to the schoolroom wherein it now hangs, was purchased through Messrs. J. T. McKittrick, Ltd., at cost price.
