The ANZAC Gates were erected to commemorate those who served in World War One.
Tomorrow afternoon the Governor (Sir Walter Davidson) will be present at two functions in Petersham-the opening of ANZAC Gates in Petersham Park, and the unveiling of a trophy gun in Petersham Town Hall. The gates are in memory of the men who left Petersham and fought in the war; the gun was captured from the German army during the attack on the Hindenburg outpost line on September 8, 1918.
