The honour roll commemorates those from the church who served in World War One from 1914 to 1915. The roll was held in the original Methodist Church in Henry Street, Penrith. 

Private Messer, the first name on the roll, died in battle a week after its unveiling. The roll contained 11 names. 

Empire Day services will be held in the Penrith Methodist Church on Sunday next. At the night service, commencing at 7.15, the Mayor and aldermen will attend in commemoration of Empire Day, by special invitation ; also to be present at the unveiling of Honor Roll of those Methodist young men who have gone to the War. The Honor Roll consists of brass plate on beautiful polished frame.
