Forbesdale Roll of Honour Print Page
The wooden roll of honour commemorates those from the Forbesdale District who served in World War One.
On Friday last Forbesdale welcomed the last of the soldier boys, a picnic and sports for adults and children being held as on previous occasions. Advantage was taken of this function also to unveil an Honor Board bearing the names of all soldiers who went from this district to serve in the great war. A good crowd gathered before midday, and all entered heartily, and with a spirit of true friendiness into the day's proceedings. Those who have visited similar gathering here know full well how splendidly the local ladies attend to the wants of visitors and in such respect this gathering furthered their reputation.
