An avenue of Silky Oak trees commemorates those who died in service or were killed in action in World War One.
Note : An Avenue of 30 silky oak trees was planted in Barkly Street in 1918 and completed in 1934 between Bridge and Church Street which was the location of the Avenue of Honour monument which is now located in the Botanical Gardens. It is unknown by Monument Australia if additional trees were planted in Barkly Street where this plaque is located.
