Dear Monument Australia visitors, we are a self-funded, non-profit organisation, dedicated to recording monuments throughout Australia. Over time the costs of maintaining this website have risen substantially (in fact they are probably larger than those of many companies who exist for profit). In the past we have borne all the costs associated with maintaining the website but we are now having difficulties in paying the monthly expenses.
If Monument Australia is useful to you, please make a donation to keep this historical and educational resource available. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Beehive Staff Honour RollPrint Page

The photographic honour roll commemorates staff members of the Beehive who served in World War One.
The Beehive is a large building in Pall Mall, and was a mining stock exchange and department store.
The honour roll was obtained from an antique store in Inglewood, Victoria in February 2021 and has been restored. It was in a backyard rubbish pile against a creek. Some of the photographs were missing and replacements have been resourced from descendants.
Lietenant Colonel Robert Henderson who is listed on the honour roll, was a builders merchant whose family owned the Beehive building. He was the Commanding Officer of the 39th Battalion in World War One.
