Toodyay Roads Board
Monthly Meeting
At this stage a deputation consisting of Rev. J Mason and Mr S G Beach was received. Mr. Beach said that the object of the Deputation was to request the Board to have, the Honor Board in the Board Chambers unveiled at a very early date, and stated that the unveiling of the splendid Honor Board had only been an oversight on the part of the Roads Board. Rev. Mason also spoke and said that it was a matter that should receive early attention. All other towns had their Honor Boards unveiled, and he trusted that the Toodyay Roads Board would have the memorial unveiled, and that all soldiers' relatives be asked to be present. The Chairman (Mr Cook) assured the deputation that the Honor Board would be unveiled as early as possible and stated, that arrangements had been made on two occasions to unveil the memorial, but circumstances had prevented same. The deputation thanked the Board and then withdrew. Mr Doust moved that the request be granted, and that the unveiling take place on Anniversary Day (26th January). Seconded by Mr Hodgkinson and carried.
