The Bugler from Burwood Print Page Print this page

The sculpture, the "Bugler from Burwood" commemorates those who have died in service or been killed in action in the various conflicts in which Australia has been involved.  The sculpture marks the centenary of World War One and the birth of the ANZAC legend.

The sculpture depicts Leonard Francis Hall, a Burwood native who served in World War One. He is shown in uniform, complete with slouch hat, playing his bugle. He stands upon a plinth, which has four plaques attached.
