Dear Monument Australia visitors, we are a self-funded, non-profit organisation, dedicated to recording monuments throughout Australia. Over time the costs of maintaining this website have risen substantially (in fact they are probably larger than those of many companies who exist for profit). In the past we have borne all the costs associated with maintaining the website but we are now having difficulties in paying the monthly expenses.
If Monument Australia is useful to you, please make a donation to keep this historical and educational resource available. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Wycarbah Honour RollPrint Page

The honour roll commemorates those who served in World War One.
ROCKHAMPTON, April 25.
There was a large attendance at Wycarbah to witness the unveiling of an honour board erected for the soldiers who had enlisted in that district. Mr J. Whitley who presided, stated that there were 15 names on the board which he considered excellent, seeing how small their community was. Four had made the supreme sacrifice, and five had returned, four being wounded. The board was unveiled by Mrs Williams, whose three sons enlisted, two being killed. A welcome was extended to the five soldiers who have already returned.
