St George`s Memorial LecternPrint Page Print this page

The lectern of the church commemorates those from the congregation who died in service or were killed in action during World War One.

The Church of England Soldiers' Memorial is soon to be erected. About £20 was contributed and some more promises to come in.  A lectern is to be made for the church with a tablet with the names of those of St. George`s boys who made the supreme sacrifice. Further donations to enable a fitting memorial to be erected may be sent to the Rector St George's Church, Mareeba.
