Methodist Church Honour RollPrint Page
The wooden honour roll commemorates those connected with the Methodist Church who served in World War One.
Sunday, September 29th, is to be a great day with the York Methodists. Their Sunday School Anniversary is to be celebrated, and the soldiers' " Honor Board " is to be unveiled. There will be three services as follows:—Morning at 11 o'clock, when the members of the Friendly Societies, headed by the Town Band, will march from the Oddfellows' Hall to the church; afternoon at 3 o'clock, when the Senior Cadets will march to the church in uniform, and Mrs. J. B. Harris, who has three sons at the front, will unveil the fine Honor Board which contains between sixty and seventy names; and the evening service at 7.30.
The Rev. J. E. Stone will be the preacher for the day, and the Sunday School will sing Anniversary Hymns at all of the services.
