The large sculptured memorial plaque commemorates the centenary of the ANZAC (Australian and New Zealand Army Corps) landings at Gallipoli in Turkey in April 1915 during World War One.
On the 25th April 2018, a smaller adjacent plaque listing the names of those from the District who served in World War One and whose names are not listed on any memorials in the Emerald District was unveiled.

This Centenary of ANZAC Project was officially dedicated on the 25th April, 2015
This project is proudly supported by the Queensland Government.
Other support was provided by Central Highlands Regional Council, Emerald Ladies Welfare Association and RSL Qld Emerald Sub Branch
