Centenary of ANZAC Landings at GallipoliPrint Page
The plaque and time capsule commemorate the centenary of the ANZAC (Australian and New Zealand Army Corps) landings at Gallipoli in Turkey in April 1915 during World War One. The plaque and capsule are at the base of a Lone Pine Tree.
The Time Capsule contains many items of significance. Amongst the treasures to be opened in a century’s time was a memory stick containing this year’s Premier’s Spirit of ANZAC Award recipient, Natalie Barbazza’s submission and speech; a newspaper (dated April 22, 2015); photograph of the plaque’s unveiling; writing reflections from the Year 9 cohort; and College Principal, Mrs Patricia Cowling’s reflection of school life today and her hope for the future.
