Memorial StonePrint Page
The stone commemorates those who served in World War One. The stone which was part of the enlargement of the church was laid in January 1920.
Nineteen years ago the Methodist people of Morningside built their first brick church and on Saturday last the substantial enlargement of that church was opened and dedicated by the Rev H Youngman, D.D., in the presence of a large attendance The enlargement, which is practically a reconstruction, and has cost about £1000, is known as the soldiers' memorial church enlargement. Over 400 sq feet of floor space has been added by well proportioned and artistic transepts.
The Brisbane Courier (Qld.), 14 April 1920.
