South Riana Memorial Hall Print Page
The hall commemorates those who served in World War One.
South Riana.
The residents have decided to build a hall, which has been needed for a long time. A site has been acquired on an allotment adjoining the South Riana store. The structure will be up to date in every way, and credit to the district, and will represent a monument to our soldiers. The dimensions of the building are as follows:-Body of hall, 50ft. x 26ft.; stage, 10 x 26; with two rooms at rear covering 12 x 26ft.
The plans and specifications have been donated by Messrs. WV. A. Pilbeam and Co., builders and sawmillers, of Burnie. The movement is in the hands of the South Riana Progressive League, of which Mr. Thos. Mulligan is secretary. The work will be done chiefly by free laIbour. A good sum of money will be needed for material, and the committee, who are already collecting, hope to get good support from the public.
